The Fire-Rescue Chief came in with the new Director of York County EMA, Arthur Cleaves.  The Board had a good roundtable discussion with him.

A resident came in and talked with the Board about some recycling ideas.

After that, the Selectmen talked about a couple of Ordinance changes and a Charter change they plan to make.  They discussed budgets, had some general discussion about things going on here in town, and talked briefly about items related to the schools.  Right now most of the Board’s time is being consumed with budgets.

  • Weekly Legislative Bulletin #6 from Maine Municipal Association
  • Newsletter from So. Maine Planning & Development Commission

  • Review of Projects and Issues
Selectman Santolucito talked about the Workshop the Board had this week.  He thought it was very productive.  He has been looking at the budgets coming in and is working on the Tech Account portion of the Administrative budget and getting input from Dave Anderson on what we may need to do in the upcoming year.  Selectman Santolucito plans to attend the SAD 6 Budget Advisory Committee meeting scheduled for tomorrow night.

Selectman Harmon also attended the Workshop.  She has been going over budgets that have come in to date from our Department Heads, reviewing Ordinances that are being proposed and changes to the Warrant.  Charisse, our Treasurer gave her language that needs to be added regarding waiver of foreclosure.

Selectman Booker went to the Workshop Monday night and to the Budget Committee Meeting last night.  She has been working on the insurance budget and has had some discussion on the Town Report budget for next year as well.

Selectman Burns has been in most days.  He has been working on his portion of the Administration budget.  He reported that he is almost finished with that so the Selectmen will be going over it very soon.

Selectman Emery has not been able to get in the office much this past week but he has been keeping up with new budgets that have been coming in.

Selectman Emery assured us that there are no major issues and things are going well in town.  Our snow budget is well in hand and our Departments do an excellent job maintaining their hours and working within our means.  Selectman Emery said the Board appreciates how hard everyone is working this winter and everything our employees do for the town.

Selectman Harmon said when people ask about our snow budget they seem to be surprised that we are within budget.

Selectman Emery spoke briefly about how much snow we have had this winter.  He noted that there have been winters in the past when we have had more so it is something we have learned over the years to manage.
